Tell us a little about yourself and how you got into the beauty industry

Hi I'm Heather, I'm 28 from Leeds. I’ve been in the beauty industry for 9 years and made the move into PMU around 18 months ago. I can honestly say I’ve never looked back. I love creating natural, beautiful results and seeing the confidence boost it gives my clients and the best part is it doesnt even feel like work! I’m always learning, improving and pushing myself to grow as an artist.

Why did you decide to train in SPMU?

I decided to train spmu after having my son, i did lashes for a while part time but i just fell out of love with it, i didn't have as much time to work and needed something where i could work less and earn more as a single parent. My son was starting school in 18 months when I trained in lip blush and i thought right i have 18 months to make this work so i can work around school hours & holidays. I invested a lot into training and put all my energy into lip blush. He's just started school this September and i really feel like i made it to the place i wanted to be at where i have the flexibility to be present for him and have that balance with work, in a job that I actually love.

What’s your favourite procedure to perform and why?

Nothing beats an ombre lip blush, thats what i wanted to focus on when i trained and what really made my business take off and get attention.

What is your favourite part of your job?

It just doesn’t feel like work, when I'm blushing i really switch off and i love getting to chat to my girlies.

What’s been your proudest moment of your career so far?

When people started messaging me asking for training. I never thought id be at a position only 18 months into my spmu career offering training

Where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time?

I'm currently finalising my beginners training course, to start offering in 2027 so hopefully ill be doing more training.
