Tell us a little about yourself and how you got into the beauty industry

Hi, I’m Abbie and I have been in the industry now for 5 years. I decided to take the leap and do my initial training whilst on maternity leave with my second child. I was sick of the 9-5 grind and lack of opportunities within normal workplaces. I trained initially with the insanely talented Sarah at luxe brows who gave me the confidence I needed to really get myself out there. Once I started I realised this was it .. this was the career path I wanted to excel at. From then I’ve spent the last 5 years working on my skills, training with more amazing ladies (Jasmine Evans and Amy at Killa Cosmetics) and trying to push myself as far as I can.

Why did you decide to train in SPMU?

I’ve always been creative, with a keen eye for detail, and long before I trained professionally, I was the friend everyone came to for beauty treatments. Today, I combine that passion with advanced training to create results for every client.

What’s your favourite procedure to perform and why?

Lip blush is my favourite treatment to create because of its versatility and the beautiful results. However, brows are where my passion first began, so I’ll always be a brow girl at heart.

What is your favourite part of your job?

As much as I love creating beautiful brows and lips, my clients are the best part of my job. Meeting amazing people and building relationships that in a lot of cases turn into really lovely friendships.

What’s been your proudest moment of your career so far?

Honestly, this. Sometimes when you’re so focused on improving and striving to be better it’s very easy to get caught up in self doubt. I know I feel like I have imposter syndrome quite a lot so getting this recognition has been a reminder to me to appreciate how far I have come and realise I’m maybe doing okay after all.

What is your favourite Cosmedic Supplies product?

My go to will always be the Luna+ 1rl 0.35MT. It’s my ride or die for a lot of my treatments. I’ve really been loving the Brovi range at the moment too and I feel their healed results are the best I’ve had yet.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time?

In five years, I hope I’m still just as passionate about what I do as I am now. I want to keep learning, keep growing, and continue creating work I’m proud of. I have made so many lovely friendships throughout my career with other artists and they have helped me push myself so much so I have good hope that I will continue my path in this industry.
