Tell us a little about yourself and how you got into the beauty industry
My name is Monika and I’m originally from Slovakia, but England has been my home for over 13 years now. 🤍
When I first got into the beauty industry, I never imagined where it would take me. I simply knew that I loved beauty, makeup and making women feel good about themselves.
I started as an makeup artist and little by little I found my way into semi-permanent makeup. I remember being so nervous at the beginning and questioning whether I was good enough, but I kept practising, learning and pushing myself.
Why did you decide to train in SPMU?
I’ve always loved the beauty industry and making women feel more confident. I wanted to offer something that went beyond traditional makeup and gave my clients long-lasting results. Once I discovered SPMU, I completely fell in love with the artistry and precision behind it, and I knew it was something I wanted to build my career around.
What is your favourite part of your job?
Seeing my clients’ reactions at the end of their treatment. There’s something really special about helping someone feel more confident. I also love teaching and sharing the knowledge and techniques I’ve developed over the years with other artists.
What’s your favourite procedure to perform and why?
Definitely lip blush! I love how creative the treatment is, from choosing and mixing the perfect colour to creating a beautiful, precise outline. Every client is different, and I love being able to enhance their natural lips while still keeping the final result soft and natural.
What is your favourite Cosmedic Supplies product?
It’s hard to choose just one! I absolutely love the Luna+ cartridges for creating a super clean and precise lip outline, and the BuffBrowz Concealer Palette is a must-have for me when creating the perfect pre-draw. Both have become essentials in my kit and are products I genuinely use all the time.
What’s been your proudest moment of your career so far?
Opening my own clinic has definitely been one of my proudest moments. After years of working in the beauty industry, having a space of my own and seeing everything I’ve worked towards come together has been such a special achievement. Becoming an educator is another huge one for me — being able to share my knowledge, help other artists grow in confidence and watch them develop their skills is incredibly rewarding.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time?
I’d love to have continued growing my business and established myself even further as both an SPMU artist and educator. I want to continue developing my skills, training more artists and building a strong academy alongside my client work. Most importantly, I still want to genuinely love what I do and keep evolving within the industry.
